Great start to 2026! February until March!
I swear I'm not lazy or burnt out. I'm just a one-woman show really.
I really meant to make an earlier post for each event but I guess this is going to be one mega post. It's already March where did the time go!! I feel a bit bad for not updating the blog quicker.
In February I had three events: Dracon, J-Popcon, and Dark Market Odense. I'm very happy to have gone to two new events.
Dracon:
Dracon is a new event located in Vejle, Denmark. While it is it's first time, there was quite the turn out of guests. The staffers were all helpful and friendly. I really had a great time meeting new cosplayers. It was so cool seeing some cosplayers' take on crafting their own wigs out of unique materials. They made their wigs out of fabric and another was made out of cardboard. How truly inspiring! I really enjoyed my time here despite the cold weather. I do hope to be back next year.
Speaking of cosplays, I wore my Daniella Dimitrescu cosplay from Resident Evil Village. Let's just say this didn't bode well for the younger audience. I've learned something valuable from this: as cool as the costume is, wearing a scary costume will scare some of the younger audience away. My thought process for choosing this cosplay was because I wanted something easy to wear and I hadn't worn her to a convention yet. In my Youtube video, I actually have my friend Bianca modeling this costume. I do plan on trying to create a proper photoshoot of this cosplay in the future. With the test of time, this cosplay still looks great.
J-Popcon:
I was debating on making separate posts for all these events but since it's already mid-March I think it's better that I write it as one big post. For J-Popcon, I was lucky to win the lottery and get a placement. I'm very fortunate and happy with where I was located as well. I was right by Denji Stage so it was quite easy to find my booth.
Instead of driving this time, I decided to take the bus and train for transportation. Thus my packing abilities were limited. I was only able to bring a giant suitcase and a duffle bag containing all of my products and cosplays. I did not bring any hoods or berets this time around. But I will be working to improve my packing methods so that I can optimize my wares. I actually sold my sample hoodie which I wasn't expecting to sell. It's listed on the website and it's SOOOOOOO cozy! The bunny who bought it was so happy when trying it on, I couldn't help but sell it on the spot. Thus I do believe I'll make a small order in the future to keep a few hoodies on hand when going to future events. I don't know when I'll start doing this but it's in the cards. Again, I just have to work on inventory management.
I was really happy to see all the bunnies come by the booth and meeting new ones. I had such a blast. I will always try my best to come to J-Popcon. I don't know if it will be a lottery system again next year but I do plan on applying.
For cosplays, I brought two new cosplays and a new Japanese fashion dress from Ozz On Japan. I wore the J-Fashion dress for the J-fashion show along with some of my own created jewelry. To be fair some of the jewelry that I created were from pre-existing items and not all made from scratch. I did change up some of the pieces I expected to wear the day of, but it was really nice to do something non-cosplay for J-Popcon. I always feel like I need to wear cosplay but its nice to have some other type of "Japanese Popular Culture" in my line up than just being a character. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE BEING IN COSPLAY, but that also doesn't allow me to wear some of my jewelry and showcase my brand.
SPEAKING OF COSPLAY: I made two new costumes: Angel Dust - Club Drag dress, and Lust from Full Metal Alchemist. I didn't get many pictures of my Angel Dust, but I didn't get any of my Lust from FMA. It was my casual costume and I was feeling slightly off that day? So I didn't put my tattoo on; without it, the whole look just looks a bit plain. Either way I'm glad to have pulled off two completely new cosplays!
I would have to say that I had great numbers at J-Popcon, and thank you to everyone who came! I had such a blast and was soooo filled with happiness seeing the community again. I didn't get to leave the booth much to see what else the convention had to offer. I did schedule time for my team and I to go to the maid cafe. That was so much fun, I'll have to schedule it again if I get in next year but for an earlier time slot so I can get all the cake.
My friends were actually running the tournament and I said I'd love to give an award to the winner. So as a teaser I gave a mini ear cuff and a business card saying to tell them to come back to my table and pick any item as their victory prize. Upon learning it was DOUBLE ELIMINATION, I actually gave two items to the winner. The winner being Tsun, said he went all the way into Victory bracket, and then got knocked into losers bracket and had to fight his way back to the top to win. I find double elimination tournaments really nice, so that players have a comeback shot. So I'm glad to have had helped give some items away as prizes. I did this because of a few reasons:
1. I used to compete in Smash.
2. My husband used to compete in Smash.
3. I want to support the community.
4. Because I can.
I feel like giving back where I can isn't just a nice gesture, but showcases that I'm still passionate about things. I know my competitive days are over, but that doesn't mean I can't do anything to support it.
ANYWAYS GETTING OFF TOPIC A BIT?? J-Popcon being a wonderful success and so much fun, I always hope to comeback next year. We'll see!!!
My last event for February was Dark Market Odense.
Dark Market Odense
Dark Market Odense was held at the very end of February and my first time there. I was thrown off by the layout of the venue, but I made it work out. This time I did bring all my wares and some new designs. I had 5 new hoods and of course restocked the colors of my XL ear cuffs. I do believe I sold out of my XL silver-black ear cuffs so I'll have to work on restocking that again. I had so much fun seeing everyone in alternative clothing and meeting more people and turning them into bunnies.
I did like this one-day event. If I have the energy to do it next year I might try for a placement. I chose Dark Market Odense over doing Geekcon again. I wanted to give a short break from Geekcon, nothing wrong with them, but I did want to try a new location. Thus I tried Dark Market Odense. It is an easier drive for me and not such a long day. With one day events I generally drive to the venue, set-up, and then return home in Jylland. With Geekcon being literally on the other side of Denmark, it's actually really hard for me. It's easiest if I drive but at the same time, it's just me driving so it's not like I can alternate.
Kinda got on a ramble there BUT! I did enjoy my time at Dark Market Odense. I have fancied their events since Dark Market Magiske Dage Odense last year. I really enjoyed my time and this was nothing less. I will apply next year, if I don't get in, I won't be too upset.
I was really happy wearing Jirai-Kei fashion for this event. I would have liked to do more with my look but being behind a table, I did want to stay comfortable. Maybe next Dark Market I'll remember to actually take pictures and video of myself.
WHAT IS COMING UP FOR BUNNY OVER THE MOON?????
That's a great question! I have a very heavily loaded schedule in April-May. I have these next events:
~Sci-Fi-Con Randers 4-5 April
~Nitricon 18 April
~Gamebox Festival 24-26 April
~Dark Market Prison Ink 14-16 May
~Dokomi 29-31 May
~Seijocon 31 July-2 August
~Fantasy Festival Esbjerg 19-20 September
I have applied to more events but I have yet to be confirmed into them. If I get in I will make an updated post in the future. April is a pretty heavy month but I am currently working really hard to make sure that I can create enough inventory. I'm extremely happy for everyone's support in my creations and my business. It really makes me smile when I have my bunnies comeback when I'm at the same event.
I am currently working on a reward system. I'm not sure how to implement it yet and still working on the kinks. It takes a lot to run the business with just one bunny but I'm going to try to have the reward system created by July. It'll have to be after Dokomi just because it'll be my first experience in such a massive venue.
I know I need to work on updating the website, but my main focus is selling at events and what's left over I'll be able to place on the website. I should be able to focus on adding more products to the website come June.
I do want to work on getting better at creating content for these events so that way people can see what I do and it's not so boring. I'll start properly vlogging again. It's on my to-do list.
I don't want to tease any new products just yet as I'm unsure when they'll come out. But THINGS ARE BREWING! I'm hard at work behind the scenes.
One of the things I love the most is seeing the faces when anyone tries on my creations. It's really interesting to see everyone's reactions. SO thank you to all my bunnies, new and old! I am so happy to share my creations with you. I also really love it when people tell me stories about when you've worn a piece or just comeback wearing it. <3 <3 SO truly thank you and thank you again. I can't say it enough. <3
SO SEE YOU SOMETIME SOON!
(If you're wondering, if you ever purchase a product from my small business, you're now one of us. You're a Bunny Over the Moon! A Beautiful person that's elated with joy and happiness. I literally write this on my About Page, go check it out.)
